A bit of street food we found in Hoi An: a pastry vendor, a (wonderful!) sandwich vendor that put meats and other nibblies into french bread that had been freshly toasted in a coal fired oven, a flan vendor. Also shown are someone chopping ice the old-fashioned way, and someone heating their street kettle with a wood fire. Oh, and some popcorn we had on the train - one of the few times I've seen an American food more packaged in Asia than it is in the states.

Vietnamese sandwiches are all the rage here. There's at least three shops in Austin. I mean what's not to like? They're like a sub, but with healthier ingredients. And they're usually only $3.25.
yes! a fresh, healthy, tasty meal - what could be better? in hoi an they were 25,000 dong/each = about $1 USD.
hopefully they use the fresh french bread - you can eat that alone, it just melts in your mouth.
