We went to Ayuthaya on a sunny warm Saturday. Ayuthaya is about two hours drive from Bangkok, and it's really cool - lots of old ruins (it used to be the capital of Thailand). It's sort of like Rome - there's even bits of old buildings in the middle of traffic intersections.
Ayuthaya also has a lot of really lazy animals. I don't know what it was about the places we went, but man, I've never seen such sleepy cats and dogs.
Oh, and the top of the lampposts in Ayuthaya is sort of a phoenix-like bird.
