Londoner brewpub

We went to the Londoner brewpub for my birthday dinner.  It had excellent food, and some very tasty beer that was brewed onsite.  The bitter tasted as a bitter should, and was nice and fresh.  The pilsner was especially tasty - it finished with honey or kandi sugar (not sure which) and was delicious.  We also tried lamb shank and a seafood platter - very well prepared, both.  We stuck around long enough to watch the locals get crazy over a soccer game on tv (Liverpool vs Manchester United - apparently an important match).  A great evening!

Cool...I'm glad you went there. But what is a "soi"?

'soi' means alley. so sukhumvit road is the road, but it's a really long, straight road (someone told me it actually goes all the way from bangkok to cambodia). so to say something is on sukhumvit road doesn't help much. so you say which soi it's on - the start of sukhumvit has a side street that is soi 1, and so on down the line. even numbers on one side, odd on the other. It ends up looking like a fishbone on a map - sukhumvit road is the spine of the fish, and the sois are the ribs.

Lots of fancy restaurants around various sois of Sukhumvit, hence the location of the brewpub, and the fact that a lot of expats live on or near Sukhumvit somewhere.
