Last night we were eating our first dinner in Bangkok at a streetside restaurant, and an elephant walked by. I think I read somewhere that elephants are considered lucky in Thailand, so it's a good omen for the start of our relocation here. A couple folks walked alongside the elephant selling sugar cane to feed it, but we didn't get any. We didn't want to hurt the elephant - surely eating sugar cane all day can't be good for ones blood sugar, and how do you give a diabetic elephant insulin, anyway?
