Our favorite temple in Chiang Mai was a pretty local one just outside the city moat called Wat Lok Molee. It was very local and isn't on a lot of the tourist maps (or tour lines). There was (once again) some beautiful wood and a very old chedi, but there was also a Thai school field trip watching some Thai handicrafts being made in the back of the temple grounds, and a little restaurant with a tv that was showing "The Island" (great movie).
