Chili Crab at 'Jumbo' Seafood

Tonight we ate chili crab at 'Jumbo' Seafood restaurant.  Jumbo is a restaurant that became famous for it's restaurant on a boat in Hong Kong - now they have other branches in Singapore and Japan, too.  We went to one on the shore on the east side of Singapore.

The signature dish here is the chili crab - so we made a beeline right for that.  They use Sri Lankan crabs, which are a good size and have extra large claws.  As you can see, we made short work of it.  It's true, though - we both needed bibs - chili crabs are messy!

Do all the servers at Jumbo have Santa hats on? That's awesome.

And I'm totally not jealous at all, since I made homemade split pea soup yesterday. I'm sure if you have the choice between "chili crab" or "Matt's homemade split pea soup", you'd totally go for the SPS.

Ok, maybe not...

Vikes 35, Arizona 14...hope you got a chance to catch it!

Yes - Santa hats are a recurring theme here in Singapore. People seem to enjoy celebrating Christmas - there are many decorations everywhere, and Christmas music (a bit strange when it's 86 degrees and humid outside) is playing in most places we go.

Yes, split pea soup is the bomb, but to make it a Singapore dish you'd need to make chili split pea soup. Everything here is spicy.

I didn't get to see the game, but I read the box score - 4 TDs by T-jack - who'd a thunk it? Hopefully we can beat Atlanta - and maybe the Giants will be resting all their starters so we can beat them, too???
