Singapore day one

We tried to take it slow in our first day in Singapore.  We had a leisurely breakfast, shopped at a local mall (where folks go up the left escalator - same side people drive on in this town), had some chicken rice (a local specialty) for lunch, and wandered around the Singapore Botanical Gardens and Orchid Garden during the afternoon.  The fresh air and sun was (we hope) a good way to start to reset our internal clocks to the local time.

And yes - mine was the only Aloha shirt we saw anyone wearing.

We'll be going to dinner soon (wow, there are some great choices for food here in Singapore!), and this evening we're hoping to take a dip in the (beautiful) hotel pool.  Singapore is a lovely town, though it will take us a while to adjust to the heat and humidity - we're certainly not used to that anymore!
