Last weekend we also went to Wat Bowonniwet. It was striking, and very well maintained. It is one of the most famous monasteries in Bangkok.
As at most of the temples we've visited, people were paying there respects with incense and lotus flowers. The faith and devotion of the people we've observed here is moving. Around town many buildings have 'spirit houses' to which devotions are also regularly made, and many folks that pass by salute them with a 'wai'.
